Proposal of new regulated parking areas for Mooloolaba

The proposal, which includes a combination of both council-owned land and privately owned car parks in the Mooloolaba area, will be open for community feedback over the next month until July 15.

Council approved five-star luxury resort in Buderim

A five-star luxury resort in the heart of Buderim, which will be the first of its type in the region, has been approved by Sunshine Coast Council at its ordinary meeting today.

Planning Portfolio Councillor Christian Dickson said he supported the proposal and was pleased that council voted in favour of his motion calling for the application to be approved.

$20 million Sippy Downs Drive project continues

“This upgrade is fantastic news for the Sippy Downs community and one I know they have been eagerly looking forward to,” Cr Dickson said.

The fourth and final stage of a $20 million duplication of Sippy Downs Drive, which will significantly improve traffic flow and create an entry statement into the Sunshine Coast’s Knowledge Precinct, will start mid-year.

Council bridging the gap between Mooloolaba's separated bikeway

The 5m-wide bridge will be an entry statement into Mooloolaba, spanning Mayes Canal and connecting the two complete stages of the region’s flagship separated bikeway and adjacent coastal pathways.

Solar Farm savings close to $1M

Mayor Mark Jamieson said the strong electricity generation from the farm during January allowed council to offset 129% of its total power consumption.

Road rehabilitation improves driving safety and journey quality on 200 local roads

Local Councillor Greg Rogerson said in 2017/18, council’s $18.7 million Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program is delivering improvements to more than 200 local roads.

“This program is part of a 10-year $225 million investment by council to repair road failures, improve the road surface and renew line markings, ensuring residents and visitors have access to safe and high quality local roads,” Cr Rogerson said.
