Sunshine Plaza Expansion - Open for Christmas!

The first retail stage of the $420 million redevelopment opened to the public on Thursday 15 November, in time for Christmas shopping. The opening revealed a fully refurbished Myer and a range of exciting new brands such as Harry Hartog, Tigerlily, T2, Politix, Secrets, Charcoal and Bras N Things.

A number of existing centre upgrades were revealed, including the refurbished Food Court, interior ambience upgrades and a custom made internal kids play area with a nautical theme and the addition of new custom seating areas at the bridge link on the ground level. Two new food and beverage offers have opened opposite the kids play area. Pacific Subsea Cable will link Maroochydore to Asia and US


The council has signed a contract with RTI-C for a 550-kilometre JGA-S branch to connect Maroochydore City Centre to the under-construction Japan-Guam-Australia South (JGA-S) subsea cable, and consequently Asia and the US. The Council believes this could create 864 new jobs and be worth $927 million to the Queensland economy.

“This project will stimulate investment and jobs growth on the Sunshine Coast thanks to the superior telecommunications connectivity and data infrastructure and could serve to attract some of the world’s biggest data users to our region,” said Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson.

Actventure Set to Become Queensland's Largest Eco Family Leisure Resort


ACTVENTURE Resort is currently being designed and is earmarked to include a mix of 250 eco villas and glamping tents, all day family restaurant, heathy café & spa, APX next generation Waterpark, Wave Oz, adult and family pools, slides, and sports activities.

The Resort will calculate a significant contribution to the Sunshine Coast’s economy, adding much needed rooms to the accommodation pool and providing hundreds of new jobs. Read more

$30 million Bli Bli Village Town Centre 

The Bli Bli Village – Town Centre is an exciting new $30 million development brought to the Bli Bli community by the White’s Commercial Property Group. The centre will offer a three-stage, multi-level commercial precinct including a mix of professional suites, retail shops, restaurants and cafes. A basement level car park will provide parking for close to 200 vehicles. Tenants can choose from retail and commercial space from 94m2 through to 500m2 depending on individual requirements. Connecting SEQ 2031 - Rail Revolution

 

South East Queensland is one of Australia's most desirable places to live and establish a business. It is expected to continue rapid growth with an anticipated population increase from 3.1 million today to more than 4.4 million in 2031.

The Connecting SEQ 2031 is the Queensland Government's proposed long-term transport plan to develop a sustainable transport system in the region.  It also directly supports the South East Queensland Regional Plan.

Key projects to be delivered by 2031 included 'CoastLink' - a heavy-rail Sunshine Coast line between Beerwah and Maroochydore, Cross River Rail, and the upgrade and realignment of the north coast line between Beerburrum and Landsborough.
